Of SUVs and seatbelts

When I read the headline on AIM about a fatal SUV crash, I thought they were talking about this accident on the 680 that happened yesterday afternoon. It turned out they were two different crashs, but both of them involved occupants being thrown from the vehicle, which usually implies they weren't wearing their seatbealts. Sometimes the actions of people befuddle me: it's pretty public knowledge that SUVs have poor handling in emergency situations, yet people drive them quickly and recklessly, and people know that seat belts can save their lives, but they still don't use them.
